Data Retention

We retain your personal data only for as long as is necessary for the purposes set out in this Privacy Policy. We will retain and use your information to the extent necessary to comply with our legal obligations, resolve disputes, and enforce our policies. When your data is no longer needed, we will securely delete or anonymize it.

Multiplayer session data (game state, player answers, and scores) is retained in Firebase Firestore for the duration of the session and may be retained for a reasonable period afterward for debugging and support purposes. Multiplayer achievement records (final rankings and scores) are retained indefinitely to support leaderboard functionality. Log Files

Baseword follows a standard procedure of using log files. These files log visitors when they visit websites. All hosting companies do this as a part of hosting services' analytics. The information collected by log files includes internet protocol (IP) addresses, browser type, Internet Service Provider (ISP), date and time stamp, referring/exit pages, and possibly the number of clicks. These are not linked to any information that is personally identifiable. The purpose of the information is for analyzing trends, administering the site, tracking users' movement on the website, and gathering demographic information.

Camera Access

The multiplayer feature includes an optional QR code scanner to join game sessions. If you choose to use this feature, the app will request access to your device's camera. You may deny camera permission and join games manually using a session code instead.
